Count Your Blessings

And this is the confidence we have in Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
1 John 5:14

It is a joyful experience when we as God’s children go to Him eagerly and expectantly in prayer, as we are reminded in 1 John 5:14.  He invites us to talk with Him whether we are seeking guidance, sharing a joy or sorrow, giving thanks, or requesting a special need.  God is listening and will answer.  We can trust His word.

But so often we react like children when God hasn’t answered our prayer the way we felt He should.  We completely forget to be thankful for the prayers already answered, and the blessings already received.

Do we remember to count our blessings?  Do we thank Him for our home, loved ones, His daily care?  Are we aware of the beauty of each new day, the warmth of friendships, or the joy of health and happiness?

Take time to count the blessings God has already bestowed upon us.  It will probably amaze us to realize how many prayers He has answered.
